Pensioners over 70 years old do not receive additional payments: who earns less due to the law's norm.
According to inkorr.com: Pensioners in Ukraine who have reached the age of 70 may receive a monthly supplement to their pension. However, in practice, not everyone who falls under these conditions actually receives these financial payments.
I am 84 years old, receiving 4612 hryvnias. My friends, starting from 70 years old, receive supplements, but I do not. I have contacted the Pension Fund, but they say everything is calculated correctly.
Stefania Ivanyugo, an 84-year-old resident of Poltava region, reported that her peers are already receiving age supplements while she has seen no changes in her pension.
Pension Supplements by Age
- from 70 to 74 years – up to 300 UAH;
- from 75 to 79 years – up to 456 UAH;
- from 80 years and older – up to 570 UAH.
Pension expert Viktor Bohdanov notes that the accrual of supplements occurs automatically as soon as a pensioner reaches a certain age. However, in the month of transition to a new status, the payment may be incomplete.
If a person turns 70 years old, for example, on August 20, the supplement is accrued only for the remaining days of the month, approximately 106 hryvnias. In the following month, the pensioner will receive the full amount.
Not all pensioners can count on this supplement. The main reason for refusal is exceeding the limit pension level. If the total amount of all payments, including benefits, exceeds 10,340.35 UAH, the age supplement is not assigned.
The expert emphasizes that additional appeals to the Pension Fund are usually not necessary, as the accrual of the supplement should occur automatically. However, if a pensioner doubts the correctness of the accruals, they should submit a written request to the Pension Fund for clarification.
Therefore, Ukrainian pensioners over 70 years old are entitled to a monthly supplement to their pension, but not all receive it. The usual reason is exceeding the maximum pension amount. The supplement is accrued automatically, but in the case of doubts, it is advisable to contact the Pension Fund for clarifications. Understanding this process can help pensioners receive the fair payments they deserve.
