Ramstein: Pentagon announces expansion of military assistance to Ukraine.
Pete Gheskett's statement at the 'Ramstein' meeting
According to inkorr.com: U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Gheskett announced during the 'Ramstein' meeting in Brussels the intention to strengthen international support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia. He also noted that in the absence of peace proposals, the U.S. and its allies are prepared to take necessary measures, but only under conditions acceptable to them.
Expansion of the PURL Initiative
During the meeting, the expansion of the PURL initiative for Ukraine was announced, which involves the procurement of American weapons. This targeted program has been supported by over half of NATO countries, including those that allocated significant financial resources for its implementation, such as Estonia, Finland, and Lithuania.
Gheskett urged European partners to move from words to action by investing in the PURL program and actively supporting Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte encouraged trust in Western military forces and not to exaggerate the threat from Russia, emphasizing the Alliance's readiness to defend its interests.
Stimulating support for Ukraine
Ukraine has received significant support from the Pentagon and NATO in its war with Russia, and the PURL initiative aimed at arms procurement has found considerable backing among NATO member countries. Both organizations have called for active measures in favor of Ukraine and to ensure international security.
These measures indicate the continuation of international cooperation in supporting Ukraine and strengthening its defense capabilities. The expansion of the PURL initiative reflects the seriousness of Western partners' intentions to assist Ukraine in opposing aggression and ensuring stability in the region.
