Pentagon: Austin to Discuss Ukraine at NATO and G7 Meetings.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to Travel to Europe
This week, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will travel to Europe to participate in NATO and G7 ministerial meetings. The main issue on the talks will be further support for Ukraine. This was reported by U.S. Deputy Pentagon Spokesperson Sabrina Singh.
According to the Pentagon, Secretary Austin will travel to Brussels, where he will stay from October 16 to 18. In the course of this trip, he will participate in a series of multilateral meetings, specifically at the level of NATO defense ministers and ministers from countries in the Global Coalition against ISIS.
Singh emphasized that the meeting in Brussels will discuss issues such as strengthening NATO's collective defense positions, adapting the coalition against ISIS to new threats, and enhancing military support for Ukraine.
Afterward, Lloyd Austin will travel to the city of Naples in Italy, where a meeting of G7 defense ministers will be held on October 19. The main topic of discussion will be providing further military assistance to Ukraine, as well as other global issues.
