Pentagon Tightens Standards for Military Personnel: New Appearance Rules.
According to inkorr.com: In the U.S., it has been decided to strengthen control over the physical training and appearance of military personnel. Pentagon Chief Pete Gaynor announced the introduction of new, stricter gender-neutral standards. This information was disclosed by 'Glavkom' citing the Washington Times.
New Requirements
According to the new rules, military personnel will undergo physical fitness tests twice a year, as well as checks on their height and weight. Pete Gaynor emphasized that this is not about yoga or stretching, but about a serious approach to physical training.
According to Gaynor, he is tired of seeing overweight soldiers in formation. 'It is also absolutely unacceptable to see overweight generals and admirals in the corridors of the Pentagon. It looks unattractive,' the minister noted.
Ban on Beards and Long Hair
The new norms also include a ban on the wearing of beards and long hair for male military personnel (except for special forces). Pete Gaynor acknowledged that these restrictions may negatively affect women in the military, but he considers it an acceptable loss. The main goal of the Pentagon is to improve the combat readiness of the army.
Thus, the U.S. government will begin to adhere to stricter physical fitness standards for military personnel by implementing regular tests and checks on their appearance. These measures aim to enhance the combat readiness of the army, which has become especially relevant in the face of modern challenges.
