Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin stated that North Korean troops have arrived in Russia. This information was officially confirmed for the first Time. According to The Washington Post, Austin noted that it is not yet known what exactly these troops are doing in Russia.

The Pentagon Chief stated: 'Now we see evidence that there are North Korean troops that have gone to Russia... What exactly they are doing is still unknown. But, yes, there is evidence that Russia has DPRK troops.'

Austin also noted that if North Korean troops plan to participate in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation, it poses a serious problem. It will impact not only Europe but also the Indo-Pacific region.

According to the Pentagon Chief, it is still unclear what specific benefits the DPRK will gain from such cooperation with Russia. However, this indicates significant weaknesses in Russia's military potential, which is forced to seek help from allies Iran and North Korea in the war against Ukraine.

Earlier, the White House had already expressed its stance on the potential involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict in Ukraine.
