Talks Between Ukraine, the US, and Russia

According to UATV: Scheduled negotiations involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia have been postponed. The delay, announced on March 11, is attributed to Washington's shifting diplomatic priorities toward the Middle East. The talks will involve US Special Presidential Envoys Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner. The Ukrainian side has stated its firm intention to assert its positions when the meeting is eventually held.

Concurrent negotiations with Iran are also influencing the broader international political landscape. It is crucial to note that Ukraine has demonstrated effective resistance against aggression for four years. In this context, the Ukrainian side is proposing a clear framework for peace, which includes:

  • A cessation of hostilities along the current line of contact;
  • The signing of legally binding documents on security guarantees.
Mykhailo Podolyak expressed the view that 'it is naive to expect the ayatollahs' regime to voluntarily agree to transfer part of its power'.

He also noted that 'there is a position of the United States that the war must be ended'. Podolyak emphasized that 'Ukraine proposes a formula that precisely guarantees the non-recurrence of all these terrible and bloody events'.

Thus, Ukraine continues to work actively to secure its interests within international negotiations, despite the change in priorities from the US. This situation underscores the complexity of geopolitical relations, where the interests of different nations can impact the course of critical diplomatic engagements. With active conflicts in the Middle East, it remains vital for Ukraine to maintain the international community's focus on its security situation and continue seeking pathways to achieve peace in the region.
