Qualcomm announces first 6G devices in 2028: what will change.
According to Korrespondent.net: At the annual Snapdragon Summit 2025, Qualcomm introduced new products, including the Snapdragon X2 chip, and drew attention to the development of next-generation mobile communication, as reported by tom's guide. CEO Cristiano Amon announced that the first devices supporting 6G will appear 'as early as 2028.'
This refers to so-called 'pre-commercial' samples—test devices that will demonstrate the capabilities of the new networks. Although ordinary consumers will still have to wait for 6G smartphones, progress in this technology is already an important step forward.
Differences between 5G and 6G
According to Amon, 6G will significantly differ from 5G not only in speed and bandwidth but also in the 'intelligence' of the network. This will allow it to gather data from sensors and provide context-aware services. Qualcomm believes this will open new possibilities where cloud computing and edge devices work as a single system.
Development of artificial intelligence
Additionally, 6G will play a key role in the development of artificial intelligence. It involves hybrid models that will combine the powers of cloud and local devices, including interfaces and sensors.
The company claims that '6G will arrive sooner than you think', and the first consumer devices with the new standard may appear before the end of this decade.
Previously, Samsung predicted that 6G would be available by 2030. That same year, China launched the world's first 6G satellite into orbit.
