Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system received women's bulletproof vests for the first time.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs system of Ukraine received 1,170 women's bulletproof vests from the Global Security Sector Reform Fund. This information was provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.
Bulletproof vests with ballistic plates will be sent to the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard, and the National Police of Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko expressed gratitude to international partners for the new aid and noted that this is the first Time that units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs receive bulletproof vests designed specifically for women.
In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was noted that thanks to special additional elements in the construction of the bulletproof vests, there are no inconveniences, and the maximum level of protection is ensured during service.
Let us recall that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing a new model of a light bulletproof vest for defenders. The press service of the institution reported this.
Lightness and maneuverability
The Ministry of Defense notes that the new bulletproof vest is characterized by lightness in construction, mobility, and convenience for performing assault and special operations. The weight of this new bulletproof vest ranges from 7.5 to 12 kg.
Prior to this, Ukraine certified the first bulletproof vest for female servicemen after two stages of testing.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense began testing special modular bulletproof vests for the Naval Forces and Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this. The feature of these bulletproof vests is that they respond to contact with water and can be used as life-saving.
