Discounted Travel on Public Transport: What to Do in Case of Driver Refusal.

The State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety (DSBT-Ukrtransbezpeka) reminded passengers how to act in case of an unjustified refusal by a public transport driver to provide discounted travel.

According to the information from the office's press service, Ukrainian law guarantees free travel for certain categories of the population, such as war veterans, disabled individuals, combatants, orphaned children, large families, and other socially vulnerable citizens.

In case a passenger has the appropriate document, and the driver refuses to provide discounted travel without justification, citizens can report this on the official DSBT portal.

To file a complaint, it is necessary to record the vehicle number, route, time of the incident, and, if possible, obtain witness testimonies. All this information should be provided when contacting through the service's electronic portal.

Ukrtransbezpeka emphasizes that it is important to know your rights and be able to defend them in public transport.
