Lufthansa pilots voted for a strike: what the union demands.
According to inkorr.com: Lufthansa pilots have expressed support for the strike initiated by the Vereinigung Cockpit union, demanding an increase in pension contributions. The voting results indicate the pilots' readiness for mass protests. However, the exact date of the strike has not yet been determined, reports the publication 'Glavcom'.
Union demands
The VC union has expressed dissatisfaction with the outcomes of the current negotiations and announced a possible strike, which has already received support from some Lufthansa and Lufthansa Cargo pilots. One of the union representatives noted that pension provision is a crucial aspect of pilots' lives and expressed hope for a serious response from the company's management.
'Pension provision is the basis for pilots' life planning,' emphasized the union representative. 'Now we expect Lufthansa to hear our opinion and offer adequate terms for the corporate pension fund.'
Changes in Lufthansa
Amid the conflict with the pilots, Lufthansa has also implemented changes to improve passenger comfort. It is worth noting that the airline has ended collaboration with all external consultants, which came as an unexpected decision in the German aviation market.
The situation with Lufthansa pilots highlights the importance of pension provision in a profession that has its specific risks and challenges. Given the inadequate response from management, the union's demands could lead to significant changes in the compensation structure. This conflict also reflects a broader trend in the aviation industry where employees are increasingly standing up for their rights.
