Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad three months under siege: how the defense of Donetsk region is going.
Defense of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad
According to ТСН: The defensive actions in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk region are ongoing. The agglomeration has been under operational siege for the third month, but full encirclement of Ukrainian forces has not yet occurred.
A military observer reports that the flanks of the agglomeration remain vulnerable. Logistic support for the Defense Forces is mainly provided through ground robotic complexes and drones — this scheme has been in operation since the beginning of autumn.
Russian troops constantly use small group tactics, trying to penetrate both directly into the areas of Ukrainian defense and to bypass strongholds.
The key settlements affecting the further development of the situation are Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, and Hryshyne. The situation in Rodynske remains complicated, especially in the eastern part of the city and to the south of it, while Chervonyi Lyman is not yet under full control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Ukrainian soldiers guarding the agglomeration have been operating in difficult conditions for a long time but continue to perform their duties. The observer also notes that the nature of combat operations now differs from previous defensive operations in Donetsk region.
The battles for Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad continue unabated.
Recall that Viktor Muzhenko provided an unexpected explanation of why the defense of Pokrovsk is so important. According to him, holding onto the two key cities in the Pokrovsk direction, which Russia is trying to capture, has significant implications during negotiations with Western partners.
This situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad underscores the importance of strategic defense in the context of conducting combat operations in Donetsk region. In the conditions of constant tension, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to fight for key territories, which may significantly influence the further course of the conflict. Considering the tactics of Russian troops, Ukrainian units adapt their actions, requiring flexibility and quick response to changes in the situation on the front line.
