France and Poland will discuss the creation of a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, plan to discuss the possibility of creating a peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine after the end of the war, an EU diplomat reports. According to him, this idea is separate from Macron's initiative to send military instructors at the moment.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also mentioned a similar plan proposed by Macron and supported the idea of involving troops from other countries on the territory of Ukraine to ensure security.

However, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the possibility of sending Polish troops to Ukraine is currently not being considered, and any similar actions should be carried out through NATO.

The meeting between Macron and Tusk will take place in Warsaw and will occur in a new transatlantic context.
