Ukrainian political prisoner Andriy Kolomiyets was sent back from Russia. After being held in detention, he was deported abroad. This information was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgiy Tykhyy, at a briefing, referring to information from RBC-Ukraine.Ukrainian Andriy Kolomiyets was returned from Russia, where he had been held before deportation. Kolomiyets was arrested in Crimea in 2015 and sentenced to 10 years in prison on political charges. After serving his sentence, he was deported to Russia, then to Georgia, and finally to Ukraine.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also mentioned successful exchanges of prisoners, resulting in hundreds of Ukrainians returning home. The Security Service of Ukraine published a video of the prisoner exchange with Russia, where Andriy Kolomiyets was present.The deportation of the former political prisoner to Ukraine was one of the events within the country's efforts to return Ukrainians who are being held illegally imprisoned abroad. The efforts of Zelenskyy and Ukrainian authorities have yielded positive results in this direction.
