Political analyst explains why the alliance between Russia and North Korea poses a challenge for the USA and even for China.
Political analyst Vladimir Fesenko explained that the formation of an alliance between Russia and North Korea poses a challenge for the USA and China. He pointed out that this alliance distorts the balance of relationships in East Asia and undermines North Korea's dependence on China. Now that North Korea is turning to Russia, this will undermine China's influence. If Kim Jong-un takes aggressive actions on the Korean Peninsula with Putin's support, this will negatively impact Chinese trade. Fesenko emphasized that the meetings between Trump and Kim Jong-un did not solve the problem of nuclear security on the Korean Peninsula.
He believes that if the USA does not react to this situation, the problem will only escalate. Therefore, it is highly likely that both Biden and Trump will warn Russia not to strengthen the North Korean presence for a war against Ukraine. Fesenko also does not rule out the possibility that the USA could give Ukraine permission to use American weapons to combat the concentrated military forces of North Korea on Russian territory. He stressed that the United States must react to this problem, otherwise the scope and risks will increase.
