Polish defense companies are focusing on acquiring new technologies to increase ammunition production. This was reported by Polskie Radio.

Krzysztof Trofiniak, head of the Polish Armaments Group, stated that Poland plans to increase ammunition production over two and a half years. This requires significant investments and cooperation between public and private companies.

The biggest challenge for the Polish defense industry is the lack of appropriate production capacities and technologies. The lack of such capabilities came to the forefront after the crisis in Ukraine, which demonstrated the need for a large volume of ammunition production.

The main efforts of the Polish defense sector will be directed at expanding production capacities over the next few years.

However, new technologies are also needed to develop these capabilities. The head of the Polish Armaments Group emphasized the need to acquire new technologies and the Importance of cooperation in this area.

Poland's primary task is to increase the production of 155-mm caliber artillery shells to meet the needs of the country's army.

The main goal is to have a sufficient amount of ammunition in stock and independent production capability for up to 8 years. This was stated by Maciej Idzik, a board member of the Polish Armaments Group.

Demand for 155-mm caliber artillery shells sharply increased after the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022. Part of the reserves Poland sent to Ukrainian allies. However, the country does not have its own production capacities, so it assembles shells from purchased components.

Conclusion

Poland is actively working on acquiring new technologies to increase ammunition production. The main goal is to have a sufficient amount of shells in stock and independent production capability. Increasing the production of 155-mm caliber artillery shells is a priority measure for Poland. The demand for these shells sharply increased due to the situation in Ukraine. However, the country requires significant investments and cooperation between public and private companies to provide the necessary technologies and production capacities for this.
