Jeep Wrangler experiences massive glitches after update: what the manufacturer is doing

According to Korrespondent.net: Jeep Wrangler owners are reporting serious issues with their vehicles after a recent software update that took place 'over-the-air', as noted by Carscoops. According to them, the cars either completely freeze or suddenly stop moving.

Driver complaints

One driver shared on the 4xe forum that after the update, his car stalled in the middle of a trip. A message appeared on the dashboard saying 'Switching to parking mode', and the engine could no longer be started. Another Reddit user recounted that his Wrangler began losing speed while traveling at 105 km/h, narrowly avoiding a collision with a truck.

Stellantis company's response

In response to numerous complaints, Stellantis promptly reached out to owners through official forums, urging them to refrain from installing the update or at least delaying it until a solution is found.

The manufacturer also announced the release of a fix. To activate it, drivers are advised to leave their car outside with a good mobile signal, turn on the engine for 10-20 minutes, and then restart the vehicle.

Stellantis also promised to compensate expenses for customers whose vehicles had to be towed to service centers.

It is recalled that earlier five automotive giants were accused of underreporting emissions figures.
