The size of pensions in Ukraine

According to inkorr.com: The Pension Fund of Ukraine has published information about the pension amounts that Ukrainians receive. According to the fund, most pensioners receive quite low payments. In particular, more than half of pensioners have monthly payments of less than five thousand hryvnias, while only one in seven receives over ten thousand hryvnias.

'In general, the average pension was 6436.79 hryvnias, which means an increase of almost 650 hryvnias compared to the previous period.'

Payment structure as of October 2025

As of the beginning of October 2025, the distribution of pensions looks as follows:

  • up to 3000 hryvnias are received by 3.7% of pensioners;
  • from 3001 to 4000 hryvnias - 31.6%;
  • from 4001 to 5000 hryvnias - 20.5%;
  • from 5001 to 10000 hryvnias - 29.1%;
  • more than 10000 hryvnias - 15%.

It was also previously announced about new rules for pensioners living abroad.

This information confirms the difficult situation with pension payments in Ukraine, where a significant portion of pensioners live on the brink of poverty. At the same time, the increase in the average pension by 650 hryvnias may be a positive signal for many, but real changes in people's lives require a more comprehensive approach and systemic reforms in the pension system. It is important to monitor future news, as changes in legislation could significantly affect the lives of Ukrainian pensioners.
