Demand for gasoline will rise due to the postponement of fines for E-5 - expert.

The postponement of fines for the failure to add bioethanol may lead to an increase in fuel demand, says Sergiy Kuyun, director of the 'A-95' group. According to him, foreign manufacturers face problems with E-5 gasoline, which may affect their activities in the Ukrainian market.

'This decision is a reaction to the increasing demand for gasoline in the season and the limited production capabilities of E-5 from foreign suppliers. They were already specifically producing it for us, as E-10 is the standard in Europe,' explained the director.

Kuyun noted that the Parliament did not repeal the law on adding at least 5% bioethanol to gasoline, but simply allowed the sale of fuel without bioethanol until January 1, 2026, without fines. He is confident that filling stations will have enough time to find solutions for ensuring the fuel market without hindrance.

In addition, the director noted that in the last one and a half months, there have been no complaints about the quality of fuel with bioethanol. Recall that the law №3769-IX of June 4, 2024 (with certain exceptions) provides for the mandatory addition of bioethanol to gasoline with an octane number below 98.

The postponement of fines for the failure to add bioethanol may help avoid fuel supply problems and positively affect market processes in the oil products sector.
