In the UK, they have begun to double the popularity of the beach: the southern coast will be closed.
According to The Sun: Today, one of the most popular beaches in the UK is closing for the launch of a project aimed at doubling its area.
The four-mile beach in Southsea, Portsmouth, will start renovations today, alongside updates.

What works are planned?
The beach plans to add a million tons of gravel to increase its area.
Residents hope that these small stones will reduce wave energy, double the total area of the beach, and prevent 'overflow' during storms.
Heavy machinery will be used for laying the gravel, which is why the beach will be closed during the works.
Deposits will be accumulated and evenly distributed along the coast.
The next phase of the project is set to begin in November, stretching to Eastney.
Impact of the project
While the works are ongoing, the tourist destination will remain open, and promenades and some local businesses will be accessible to the public.
However, road closures will occur in the Dell area, and the beach itself will be closed to visitors.
Parts of the beach are expected to reopen after the works are completed, starting from the eastern end of the coast in mid-December and moving westward.
The western pier of the beach is likely to regain limited access in January next year.
Local residents are warned that due to tide factors, works in mid-November may take place outside the usual schedule of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Other Works
Additionally, an extension of the drainage pipeline near Canoe Lake by 60 meters into the sea is planned.
This will also involve local closures; the works are scheduled for winter to avoid disruptions.
Beach expansion is part of the Southsea Beach project, which is the largest coastal defense project in the UK.
By adding over one million tons, the larger beach will better absorb wave energy and improve coastal protection.
In the future, regular gravel replenishment is anticipated if resources run out.
Costs and scales
The Southsea Beach project, costing over £180 million, began in 2020 and aims to upgrade this popular tourist destination.
Some parts of the project have already been completed, while others are still in progress.
The entire project is expected to be completed by 2029.

The ongoing project aims not only to upgrade the beach but also to ensure coastal safety from natural disasters. The introduction of new materials like gravel is designed to enhance the beach's resilience to severe weather events, making it an important step in safeguarding local residents and tourists. The changes are expected to positively affect the ecosystem and the development of the region as a whole. Read also
