US Embassy Warns of Drone Strikes in Moscow: Key Details Emerge.
Rising Drone Threat Across Major Russian Cities
According to Espreso.tv: The United States Embassy in Russia has issued a warning about drone-related dangers in the country's largest urban centers, including Moscow, Kazan, and Saint Petersburg. American citizens currently in Russia are urged to stay vigilant and seek shelter immediately if they spot any unmanned aerial vehicles. Meanwhile, local authorities in Kotelniki have refused to disclose the locations of bomb shelters in response to ongoing drone attacks.
Drone Strikes and Their Aftermath
According to available information, nine people were injured during an attack on June 18. Kotelniki, a city with a population of 75,000, was among the locations hit by drones. These strikes marked the second such incident within a week, following Ukrainian drone attacks on an oil refinery in Kapotnya.
The US Embassy also highlighted that Russian law now prohibits the distribution of photos or videos showing the aftermath of such strikes. The official statement reads:
“Do not approach, touch, or photograph UAVs, their debris, or objects dropped from UAVs.”
This advisory underscores the growing importance of civilian safety amid an escalating drone threat.
The intensifying drone menace in Russia signals an escalation in the broader conflict, raising public concern—especially in densely populated areas. Ensuring safety and exercising caution in wartime conditions applies not only to US citizens but to all residents of the region. The refusal of Kotelniki authorities to share shelter information highlights the complexity of the situation and the potential risks to people caught in conflict zones.
