SBU employee facing up to 15 years in prison for collaborating with Russians in occupied region of Kherson.
An employee of the SBU from Odessa collaborated with Russians in the Kherson region
An employee of the Security Service and Counterintelligence of the Odessa region, who collaborated with Russian occupiers during the temporary occupation of the Kherson region, has been charged and a criminal case has been initiated.
This employee previously worked at the Darivka prison and then moved to a similar position with the Russian occupiers, but decided to stay on Ukrainian territory after the liberation of the Kherson region.
He was later mobilized and worked at one of the temporary control and coordination points in the Odessa region, where he distributed conscription notices to draftees.
Although he told his colleagues about his support for Ukraine, he kept his collaboration with the occupiers a secret.
The criminal was exposed and arrested by employees of the State Bureau of Investigations together with the SBU. He is charged with collaborative activity under Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code.
According to this article, he faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
Previously, the SBU had arrested a former official of the Kupiansk City Council, who joined the local administration of Russia after the occupation of the municipality.
The SBU has also brought charges against a cleric of the Moscow Church from Luhansk, who illegally provided jewelry to distributors of the Russian Orthodox Church.
