Mark Carney - the new leader of Canada

Mark Carney, the former head of the Bank of Canada, has been elected leader of the Liberal Party and the future Prime Minister of Canada with significant support. He received over 85% of the votes, not even needing a second round of voting. Carney also won in all 343 ridings across the country, indicating strong support from the Liberals.

Carney himself expressed his readiness for change and emphasized the importance of tolerance, citizenship, and hard work throughout his life.

Carney's victory signifies not only a new phase for the Liberals but may also be a signal of upcoming federal elections.

The 59-year-old Carney will soon take the oath before the Governor General and become Prime Minister of Canada. One of the main issues he will face is negotiating with the United States regarding tariffs on goods that significantly impact the Canadian economy. US President Donald Trump has created confusion on this issue by imposing and lifting strict tariffs on certain Canadian products.

Carney emphasized that Canadian tariffs will remain until Americans show respect. All revenues from tariffs will be used to support workers. He also stressed that Canada is always ready for competition when called to battle.
