Negotiations with Russia are fruitless: Omelyan explained why peace is more expensive than war.
According to ТСН: Any compromise with Russia turns out to be more expensive for Ukraine than the war itself. Negotiations that took place in Moscow brought no results.
Expert Opinion
This point of view was expressed on the air of KYIV24 by Volodymyr Omelyan, a politician and diplomat.
"What was the fuss about that we were supposedly half a step away from some kind of peace? Perhaps this is a distraction of public attention from one thing to another. Or some other reason," he said.
Kushner's Reappearance
According to Omelyan, the fact that Kushner reappeared at the negotiations, who is considered the final negotiator from Trump, has no significance. The main goal of Putin, the diplomat noted, is to postpone the final conversation with Trump.
"Hoping that everyone will go to Christmas in the West now, will be occupied with their own affairs, he can seize another piece of Ukraine, kill a certain number of Ukrainians. He has achieved this goal," Omelyan emphasized.
Emphasis on Army Support
Omelyan stressed that the Ukrainian leadership should focus on financing the state and the army to provide modern equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He believes that robots, not people, should fight at the front.
"Other things are abstract moments that have no material relation to life. Putin and the Kremlin are determined to fight. The Russians support him in this intention. Therefore, the war will continue. Unfortunately," the politician concluded.
Kremlin's Comment
Earlier, the Kremlin reached a conclusion about Putin's position regarding the peace plan, claiming that information about his rejection is unreliable. Russia also urged Americans not to disclose details of the negotiations.
"The quieter the negotiations with the US go, the more productive they will be," Peskov boldly stated.
The described situation underscores the complexity of diplomatic relations and the reality of the set tasks in wartime. At the same time, the Ukrainian leadership continues to seek ways to support the army, as hostilities continue and the situation remains tense. The emphasis on providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern equipment becomes even more relevant given the threats from Russia.
