Czech President's Visit to Lviv Region
According to UATV: On January 15, 2023, Czech Republic President Petr Pavel made a working visit to the Lviv region. There, he met with the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi. Their discussions focused on the regional security situation and the military assistance the Czech Republic is providing to Ukraine. This visit underscores the continued European support for Ukraine's defense against ongoing aggression.
Czech Military Aid to Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Czech Republic has provided Ukraine with military aid valued at nearly $837 million. As part of this support, the country has procured over 3.7 million large-caliber artillery shells, with 1.3 million purchased in 2025 alone. This substantial contribution highlights the Czech Republic's active and sustained role in bolstering Ukraine's military capabilities.
Also present at the meeting were Ukraine's Minister for Veterans Affairs, Nataliia Kalmykova, and Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko. Maksym Kozytskyi emphasized the critical nature of the partnership, stating:
