Parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate Storm St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkasy (video).
In Cherkasy on the morning of October 17, St. Michael's Cathedral moved to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which triggered a reaction from parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate. They broke the entrance gates and entered the territory of the church. This is reported by local media.
It is reported that around 09:00, parishioners of the UOC seized the cathedral using tear gas and fire extinguishers against the chaplains of the OCU and the Cherkasy community.

The video also shows how parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate expel the chaplains of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and community representatives inside the church.
It is worth recalling that today St. Michael's Cathedral in Cherkasy moved to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was reported by military chaplain Volodymyr Pedko.
«Congratulations to Cherkasy region and all of Ukraine on the fact that the largest Orthodox church in Ukraine, which was for a long Time under the management of the Moscow Patriarchate, has returned to the fold of the Ukrainian Church! From now on, St. Michael's Cathedral will always be open for our servicemen, as it has already become Garrison,» the statement reads.
Volodymyr Pedko noted that a center for national-patriotic education, a Sunday school, and chaplain training will be established on the territory of the church.
