PrivatBank Reveals the Portrait of an Electric Car Buyer in Ukraine: Who is Buying Cars on Credit.
According to inkorr.com: PrivatBank has presented the portrait of a typical Ukrainian electric car owner who is purchasing a vehicle on credit. This information was announced by the head of secured lending, Vladislav Korolyov, at the 'Electroprospect' forum.
Growth of Electric Car Popularity
In 2025, interest in electric and hybrid vehicles significantly increased in Ukraine. According to the bank, every fifth new car purchased on credit is electric. Among Ukrainian consumers, the most popular electric car brands are BYD, Honda, Volkswagen, Zeekr, and Audi.
Characteristics of the Ukrainian Electric Car Buyer:
- Social Profile: Over half of the buyers are married men, most of whom own their own businesses.
- Age Group: The majority of electric car buyers are aged 36 to 45.
- Financing Conditions: Popular five-year credit programs.
'Every eighth new car with conventional fuel and every ninth electric car in Ukraine is purchased on credit from PrivatBank,' the report states.
Earlier, the most popular car brands and models for August were announced.
PrivatBank conducted an analysis of the profile of Ukrainian electric vehicle users who are securing loans for purchases. The research results indicate the growing popularity of electric cars and hybrids, especially among individuals aged 36-45 who own businesses and choose five-year credit programs.
