School transportation in Kyiv: parents warned about important innovations in summer.
For Kyiv schoolchildren, summer vacations bring not only the joy of rest but also the loss of free public transport rides. From July 1 to August 31, students will have the opportunity to take advantage of a 75% discount on travel tickets, which can be purchased through various services, from the 'Kyiv Digital' application to the website of the 'GIOC' company.
According to the decision of the Kyiv City Council, free public transport is available only during the academic year, starting from September 1 and ending on July 1. Schoolchildren who have become accustomed to free rides over their years of study will now be able to do so at discounted rates, as mentioned in the above quotes.
It is also worth noting that students will have the opportunity to purchase individual rides with their student ticket; however, a 75% discount is not available for these. This initiative also extends to cadets of higher military educational institutions, who will likewise temporarily lose their right to free transport during the summer months.
From July 1 to August 31, Kyiv schoolchildren will have the opportunity to use a 75% discount on travel tickets in public transport, which will allow them to maintain accessibility to urban transportation during the summer vacations.
