U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his expectations for the meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The White House chief believes that the Kremlin is ready for agreements, but doubts an immediate ceasefire from Russia. In an interview with Fox News Radio on Thursday, August 14, Trump stated: 'You know, I'm not sure we will achieve an immediate ceasefire, but I think it will happen. You see, I'm more interested in an immediate peace agreement, a quick achievement of peace.' The U.S. President aims to achieve peace in Ukraine and represent the interests of 'many people who are being killed.' After the meeting in Alaska, further negotiations are planned, as well as a phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the next meeting.
