Russia Weekly Disrupts British Military Satellites: What Threats Face Ukraine.
According to The Sun: According to the head of the British Space Command, Russia is weekly trying to disrupt British military satellites.
Major General Paul Tedman accused Moscow of actively attempting to compromise British space resources through continuous manipulation and surveillance.

Major General Tedman stated to the BBC that the disruptions are occurring constantly.
He said:
“We see our satellites systematically being disrupted by the Russians.”
“They have payloads on board that observe our satellites and try to gather information from them.”
“They can disrupt, blind, manipulate, or kinetically affect our satellites.”
Tedman confirmed that all six military satellites of the United Kingdom are equipped with jamming protection technology.
The country lags behind other major powers in satellite observation: the USA, China, and Russia have more than a hundred satellites in orbit.
Threats from China and Russia
General Tedman believes that both countries pose potential threats.
He also noted that both countries have tested anti-satellite weapons in recent years. The UK and the USA warn that
“Russia is developing the capability to deploy nuclear weapons in space.”

Last year, Putin launched a dangerous combat system into space capable of destroying other satellites. This object, known as Cosmos-2576, was brought into orbit with a Soyuz-2.1b rocket.
Joint Actions by the UK and the USA
In response to rising international tensions, the UK and the USA conducted their first coordinated satellite maneuvers in space in September. Defense officials recognized this as a significant step in space cooperation.
This mission involved maneuvering an American satellite in orbit to verify the operation of a British satellite.
The tests were part of Operation 'Olympic Defender' - a joint military initiative to enhance satellite protection and ensure their resilience.

Given new threats in space, the security of satellites is becoming a major priority for the UK and the USA. The joint efforts of these two countries in conducting maneuvers demonstrate the seriousness of their approach to protecting their space resources and their readiness to counter negative influences from competitors. The situation requires optimization of strategies to ensure resilience in times of increasing space conflict. Read also
