The Parliament voted for the social security reform 'ePotential': what will change for people with disabilities.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law on the social security reform 'ePotential' in the first reading. This was reported by the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovich.
The draft law allows those who have lost their ability to work due to illness or injury to restore themselves and return to an active life. This does not apply to people with disabilities,' Zholnovich noted.
According to the reform, the following is envisaged:
- Increase in payments to persons with complete loss of ability to work and compensation for income differences after partial loss of ability to work.
- Extension of the paid treatment period to 1 year and 4 months and preservation of the workplace throughout the rehabilitation period.
- Support for persons with disabilities, preserving benefits, rehabilitation means, training, and assistance in employment.
- Separation of statuses for targeted support for persons with disabilities and employability.
- Objective assessment of employability regardless of the MSEC.
Oksana Zholnovich also noted that the implementation of the reform is planned for 2025.
