Russia threatens new massive strike: when to expect the attack and what are the targets

According to ТСН: Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported new threats from Russia, which, in his opinion, may attack Ukraine with airstrikes. According to him, the main targets may be government buildings.

These threats emerged after statements from Russian officials that Ukraine allegedly attacked the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin with drones, which made Russian strikes 'inevitable'. At the same time, Ukraine denied this information.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, noted:

“Russia has identified targets for strikes and the time for their application.”
One of the deputies, Andriy Kolesnyk, added that
“the massive strike will be severe.”

Prospects of Russian attacks

Former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Seleznyov, expressed his opinion about possible scenarios of Russia's strikes on Ukraine. He believes that Russia uses shelling as a method of pressure on Ukraine and its partners, especially during key negotiations.

“Rocket-drone terror gives Russia certain advantages. By destroying our energy infrastructure, the RF tries to force Ukraine to agree to its conditions,” Seleznyov noted.

He also emphasized that Russia's attacks will continue. According to him:

“And by a strange coincidence, American leader Trump believes that the logic of such actions by the RF and personally by Putin is adequate. They say, as long as a peace agreement is not reached, Putin must exert such pressure.”

Possible next attacks

The expert believes that a new attack on Ukraine could happen in the coming days. “The enemy has enough resources and there is no effective counteraction to this. The massive shelling of Ukraine that took place on December 27 may be repeated,” Seleznyov noted, pointing to the possibility of new attacks before the next round of negotiations in the USA.

Earlier, the question was also discussed regarding whether Ukraine really struck 'Putin's bunker'.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense. The threats from the Russian military about new attacks indicate the Kremlin's intentions to increase pressure on Kyiv, making the country's security issue even more relevant. Ukrainian politicians and military continue to work on response strategies, taking these threats into account.
