June 23 Missile Attack on Kryvyi Rih Results in Casualties.
Russian Strike on Kryvyi Rih: June 23 Incident
According to Novyny.live: On June 23, 2023, Kryvyi Rih was hit by a Russian missile attack that killed three people and injured 19 others. This tragedy marks another grim episode in the ongoing aggression that began with the full-scale war.
The assault caused damage to both civilians and critical infrastructure. A DTEK energy facility was struck, cutting off electricity to 34,000 households across the Dnipropetrovsk region. Local official Oleksandr Vilkul confirmed the fatalities, stating that
“three people lost their lives”, underscoring the severity of the situation.
Conflict Intensifies
Meanwhile, 1,050 hostile attacks were recorded in the Zaporizhzhia region, signaling an escalation of the conflict. On June 22, the enemy also targeted the Sumy region, illustrating the broad scope of assaults on multiple Ukrainian areas.
According to DTEK, power was restored to all families left without electricity due to the strike. However, the human toll and destruction from the Kryvyi Rih attack remain deeply troubling for residents and local authorities alike.
This bombardment is part of Russia's broader strategy of waging war against Ukraine through military strikes on civilian sites and infrastructure. The rising number of attacks across various regions shows that the threat persists, leaving Ukrainian communities vulnerable. While the restoration of electricity highlights the effectiveness of local emergency services, the profound loss of life and damage pose serious challenges for society.
