According to UATV: On July 17, 2023, Russian forces launched a missile strike on the Odesa region, resulting in casualties. The attack is part of a broader wave of assaults that have targeted the area over the past week. Just a day earlier, on July 16, a residential neighborhood in Odesa was hit, killing two people, including children.

In the early hours of July 17, between 5:00 and 6:00 AM, new missile strikes were recorded in the city. Overnight, the Russian military deployed 130 Shahed drones along with various other missile types. According to local official Serhiy Krasiienko, the attack left two dead and seven injured, among them three children.
