The next meeting of the 'Ramstein' contact group will take place on September 9 in London. This was announced by a representative of the German Ministry of Defense, reports FREEДОМ.
The meeting will be held in a mixed format, but the details of the agenda are currently not disclosed.
The last meeting took place on July 21.
Recall that the USA, together with NATO, is launching a new mechanism that will allow European countries to purchase American weapons for Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, following the results of the online meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the format of 'Ramstein', called for buying more weapons from the USA to support Ukraine. This, he said, would allow the Alliance member countries to fulfill three key tasks set at the NATO summit in The Hague — to help Ukraine, expand arms production, and increase defense spending.
The 'Ramstein' contact group brings together partner countries to coordinate military support for Ukraine. The processes of arms procurement and information exchange among NATO countries are critically important in the face of growing security threats in the region. Continued cooperation between the Alliance and its partners creates a foundation for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and ensuring stability in Europe.
