According to UATV: On June 18, the 35th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took place in Brussels under the Ramstein format. During the talks, Ukraine secured agreements with Germany focused on advancing anti-ballistic missile defense, co-producing ground-based robotic systems, and developing interceptor missiles. A new support package worth approximately $4 billion was also unveiled.

Breakdown of the Assistance Package

As part of this package, the United Kingdom will commit over €800 million to deliver 150,000 drones, along with more than 350 air defense missiles and radars by the end of the year. Germany is contributing $200 million toward the purchase of American weapons and ammunition for Ukraine. Additionally, Belgium is set to provide Ukraine with 7 F-16 fighter jets in 2026.

“Strengthening military support can force Russia to abandon the war and turn to diplomacy.”

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated, “For the fourth time, we will again participate in the PURL package.” Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also emphasized that “Ukraine's security is important for our own security.”

The Contact Group meeting demonstrated the international community's resolve to support Ukraine amid ongoing challenges. The assistance provided under the expanded PURL initiative aims to bolster Ukraine's air defense capabilities and supply additional Patriot systems, thereby strengthening the country's defensive posture.

This session reaffirmed active cooperation among Ukraine's partner nations, which is crucial for ensuring regional security. As the conflict with Russia continues, international support remains vital for Ukraine, supplying the necessary resources to enhance its defense readiness and counter potential threats. The agreements reached during the meeting are expected to improve the situation on the front lines and provide more effective protection for Ukrainian territory.
