Rebrov made an unexpected substitution in the Ukrainian national team: who will go to the World Cup matches.
The head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Serhiy Rebrov, has called up midfielder Oleg Ocheretko from 'Shakhtar' to the national team for the qualifying matches for the World Cup 2026 against Iceland (October 10) and Azerbaijan (October 13). This news is reported by 'Glavkom'.
According to inkorr.com: Oleg Ocheretko, a 22-year-old player from 'Shakhtar', has been given a second chance to play for the national team, replacing Oleksandr Zubkov from 'Trabzonspor'. He first came onto the field during the match with France, when the Ukrainian national team suffered a defeat with a score of 0:2.
Composition of the Ukrainian national team
The national team includes:
- Goalkeepers: Heorhii Bushchan, Anatolii Trubyn, Dmytro Riznyk.
- Defenders: Illya Zabarnyi, Oleksandr Svatok, Valerii Bondar, Mykola Matviienko, Yukhym Konoplia, Oleksandr Tymchyk, Vitalii Mykolenko, Bohdan Mykhailichenko.
Midfielders, forwards, and reserve players are also included. The national team's gathering started on October 6, with departure to Iceland scheduled for October 8.
