Zelensky named the conditions for elections and referendum in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: The results of international negotiations, in particular with the team of US President Donald Trump, will influence the holding of the referendum and preparation for elections in Ukraine. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a communication with journalists.
The Significance of Diplomatic Negotiations
Zelensky emphasized that the issue of elections and referendum cannot be considered separately from the overall security situation. The key factor in this context will be the results of diplomatic efforts.
“Everything depends on negotiations. To be more precise, on the continuation of negotiations and achieving the desired results. First of all, the 20 points of the plan, because if we talk about the referendum, it should only be about the 20 points of the plan. But still, it is considered as a whole,” emphasized the president.
The Importance of Foreign Relations
Zelensky also noted that cooperation with the US is important for the political stability of Ukraine. According to him, it must be based on legally secured security guarantees and financial support.
“Along with the 20 points come bilateral security guarantees from the United States of America. My agreement with Trump must be solidified by signatures. It also depends on our economic block, our Prime Minister, me, the Minister of Economy and the American negotiating group, because we need a recovery package for Ukraine,” Zelensky stated.
Prospects for Legislative Changes
If the negotiation process is successful in January, February may become a month of active legislative changes. The president believes that all these processes are interconnected.
“All of this goes together. I think if we manage to accomplish all of this in January, then February can certainly be a working month regarding changes in legislation,” concluded the head of state.
The joint work of the government’s economic block with American partners continues, focusing on finalizing the “recovery package,” which will become the basis for economic recovery in Ukraine. Zelensky also expressed concern about whether Europe will protect Ukraine in the event of another attack from the Russian Federation, without receiving a clear response from Paris, Berlin, or London.
Spain Considers Participation in Peacekeeping Mission
Meanwhile, Spain is considering the possibility of sending its military to Ukraine as part of an international peacekeeping mission.
Negotiations with international partners, in particular with the US, play an important role in forming stability in Ukraine. The importance of foreign relations, particularly in providing financial and military assistance, is increasing against the backdrop of uncertainty in the region. All of this will significantly affect future elections and the referendum in the country.
