Record number of shot down drones: the Air Force published January statistics.
The Ukrainian Air Force of the Armed Forces demonstrated impressive results in the fight against Russian air attacks in January 2025. During this period, they destroyed over 2300 enemy air attack means.
According to official data, among the destroyed targets were 31 cruise missiles of various types, including 'Kalibr' and Kh-101, as well as two ballistic missiles from the 'Iskander-M' complex.
Especially impressive results were achieved in the fight against enemy unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukrainian forces destroyed 1595 attack drones of the 'Shahed' type, 388 reconnaissance UAVs, and 236 unmanned aerial vehicles of other types. They also intercepted 12 guided aviation missiles Kh-59/69.
The tactical aviation of the Air Force showed high combat activity, performing over 220 aircraft sorties. Of these, 77 missions were aimed at fire damage to the enemy, while 79 were for fighter aviation cover. As a result of the January operations, Ukrainian aviation destroyed 215 aerial targets and dealt significant blows to the enemy's military infrastructure, including command points, UAV control points, and areas of concentration of equipment and manpower.
These results indicate a significant improvement in the Ukrainian air defense system and the growing ability of the UAF to withstand massive enemy attacks.
