There were no consultations regarding the new secretary of the Kyiv City Council, - Vitrenko.
A new political storm has begun in the Kyiv City Council due to the election of a new secretary without consultations with all deputies.
Vitrenko criticized the process of selecting the secretary
The deputy expressed surprise that the choice of candidate was a surprise for some deputies, as he was not even informed about it. This situation, in his opinion, indicates a lack of transparency in the council's work.
Vitrenko also expressed outrage over the systematic violations of the regulations during the council's sessions, pointing to the advantages that the 'UDAR' faction receives, violating even the law on deputy status. In his words, the situation is becoming a 'complete chaos'.
Recently, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko supported the candidacy of deputy Zoe Yaroshenko for the position of secretary of the Kyiv City Council. This decision was unexpected for many. Zoe Yaroshenko is a member of the council's permanent commission on budget, socio-economic development, and investment activities.
The previous secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko, suspended his duties due to an investigation into corruption schemes related to land in Kyiv. He was later dismissed from his position at an extraordinary session on April 8.
With the emergence of a new secretary in the Kyiv City Council, tensions between deputies are escalating, and the level of distrust regarding the transparency of processes in the city council is rising. Uncertainty in the candidate's selection leads to heightened conflicts and dissatisfaction among the public.Read also
