Record Influx of Migrants: Nearly 1000 People Crossed the English Channel in a Day.
Britain Recorded a Record Number of Migrants Who Illegally Crossed the English Channel
On Saturday, October 5th, the United Kingdom recorded a new record number of migrants who illegally crossed the English Channel in small boats. According to Sky News, on this day, 17 boats arrived at the British shores with 973 people on board.
This is the highest number of migrants recorded in a single day in 2024. The previous record was set on June 18th, when 882 people arrived in the UK.
The increase in the number of migrants attempting to illegally enter the UK through the English Channel poses serious challenges for the government. The authorities are taking measures to strengthen border control and combat illegal migration, but the issue remains pressing.
Among the possible reasons for the increase in the flow of migrants are the worsening situation in the countries of origin, the desire to reunite with relatives already living in the United Kingdom, and hopes for better economic opportunities.
