Recruiting Women: What Professions Ukrainian Women Choose When Joining the Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Defense reports that more than 36 thousand citizens have received consultations on joining the military service through recruitment centers of the Ukrainian army. Of these, over 8 thousand have become candidates for the Defense Forces, with 20% of them being women.
According to the Ministry of Defense data, recruitment centers of the Ukrainian army achieve a high level of involvement of women in various regions of Ukraine. In particular, the highest percentage of female candidates for the Defense Forces of Ukraine has been recorded in the following regions:
Chernivtsi - 46%
Khmelnytskyi - 42%
Terra - 38%
Rivne - 33%
Chernihiv - 31%
Odesa - 29%
Sumy - 27%
In the online recruitment center that operates across the country, this indicator is 37%.
'The number of women joining the Defense Forces through recruitment centers indicates their active participation in the defense of the country. Women are actively taking on staff, medical, and combat positions, including in the UAV sector. This again confirms that the Ukrainian military provides opportunities for everyone who wants to contribute to our common victory.', said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

staff positions - 24%
combat medics, nurses, doctors - 22%
specialties related to UAVs - 13%
cooks - 12%
shooting specialties - 6%
communication and cybersecurity - 6%
psychologists - 3%
