On Wednesday, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported bill No. 13439-3 on changes to the state budget for 2025. 257 members of parliament voted in favor.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
Changes to the state budget
According to the bill, funding for the security and defense sector will increase by 412 billion hryvnias.
Zheleznyak emphasized that no cuts to the funding of ministries are foreseen in the amendments, even for those that are merged or liquidated.
'257 members of parliament voted for it as a basis,' he reported.
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko earlier, on June 5, stated in his speech in parliament that funding for the Armed Forces is insufficient. The deficit was about 200 billion hryvnias.
During the last session, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a bill regarding changes to the state budget for 2025, increasing funding for the security and defense sector. The adopted changes do not foresee cuts to the funding of ministries even in case of their merger or liquidation.Read also
