On July 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting on the defense sector. The main focus was on domestic weapon production.

Present at the meeting were Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal, and Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin.
During the meeting, issues of domestic weapon production, contracts with partners, and supplies for the Ukrainian army were discussed.
'We are carefully analyzing the fulfillment of all contracts, agreements, and investment projects. We have identified steps that need to be taken in the near future and key indicators by which the effectiveness of defense sector management will be evaluated at the end of this year. The production of Ukrainian weapons must increase', - said the president.
Also, on July 15, Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with diplomats, during which the acceleration of the Special Tribunal regarding Russia's aggression against Ukraine was discussed. In addition, the head of state signed a law enhancing responsibility for corruption offenses.
