Reuters: USA threatens to deprive Ukraine of access to Starlink satellite internet.

According to Reuters, the USA may stop providing Starlink satellite internet to Ukraine if Kyiv does not agree to the terms of a mineral resources deal.
Ukraine uses internet via the Starlink satellite system, owned by SpaceX, which is owned by Elon Musk. However, the USA has raised the possibility of stopping the service due to disagreement with the Ukrainian side regarding the mineral resources agreement.
Ukraine relies on Starlink. They consider it their North Star. Losing Starlink... would be a massive blow. - said a source.
This satellite system is critical for ensuring internet connectivity in Ukraine, especially in war-affected areas and armed forces.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the initial US proposal regarding the country's mineral resources, stating that no specific security guarantees were provided.
Currently, American and Ukrainian teams are working on the deal, and US President Donald Trump stated that he expects a swift signing of the agreement.
However, Elon Musk had previously restricted access to Starlink for Ukraine after a more critical assessment of the situation in the war with Russia. Senior fellow Melinda Haring also emphasized that losing Starlink would change the balance of power in the use of drones and artillery shells.
Last year, Ukraine proposed opening its critically important minerals for allies' investments as part of the 'victory plan'. Trump supported this idea, proposing an exchange of minerals for financial support for its military efforts.
