Reuters: USAID suspends all programs in Ukraine.

The USA halts foreign aid
The United States Department of State issued an order to cease work on all foreign aid and suspended the provision of new assistance following a directive from President Donald Trump. According to Reuters, a memo prepared by the Bureau of Foreign Assistance at the State Department and approved by Secretary of State Marco Rubio states that exceptions were made for military funding for Israel and Egypt.
President Trump ordered a review of the effectiveness of programs and their alignment with U.S. foreign policy, leading to a 90-day pause in the provision of development assistance. Projects in Ukraine, including support for schools and medical aid, including emergency assistance for mothers and vaccinations for children, were ordered to cease operations.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already granted permission to continue providing urgent food aid amid rising humanitarian assistance in Gaza and other parts of the world. Foreign funding in the form of military assistance is received annually by Israel and Egypt, as well as some other countries, including Ukraine and Georgia. Some experts have called Trump's order illegal and warned of potential negative consequences, such as involving partners in search of alternative funding sources.
