Russians attacked Ukraine with missiles and 140 drones: how many were shot down by air defense.
Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine at night on August 18 using drones and ballistic missiles. The external air assault was repelled using various types of defense in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
Night attack by occupiers on August 18
According to preliminary data, Russian invaders used 4 ballistic missiles of the 'Iskander-M' type and 140 strike drones of the Shahed type along with imitation drones. The Ukrainian defense forces managed to shoot down or repel this attack using aviation, air defense, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense had shot down/suppressed 88 enemy drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones of various types in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
According to information from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian missiles and strike drones attacked different points in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.
It is also worth reminding that in the morning of August 18, enemy forces struck Zaporizhzhia, injuring six people. Additionally, in Kharkiv, the invaders attacked the Industrial District, resulting in the death of five civilians.
This news reflects the ruthless aggression of Russian occupiers who continue to attack Ukraine, violating international law and almost daily breaching the truce.
