Russians attacked Ukraine with 673 missiles and drones: air defense shot down 621 targets.
According to ТСН: On the night of December 22 to 23, Russian forces struck Ukrainian critical infrastructure using drones and various types of missiles. A total of 673 air attack means were involved — 38 missiles and 635 unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to information from the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the Russian army carried out:
635 strike UAVs of the Shahed type launched from various directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtersk, Chauda, and Crimea;
three aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” launched from the Ryazan region;
35 cruise missiles Kh-101 and Iskander-K from the Vologda and Kursk regions.
Preliminary data at 11:30 indicates that air defense managed to destroy 621 aerial targets:
587 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types;
34 cruise missiles Kh-101 and Iskander-K.
Hits of missiles and 39 strike UAVs were noted at 21 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets in eight areas. Furthermore, three aeroballistic missiles failed to reach their targets.
It is reported that on the night and morning of December 23, Russian forces struck energy facilities in various regions of Ukraine. The government emphasizes that infrastructure in the western regions has become a target for attacks.
In Ukraine, emergency electricity shutdowns are being introduced as a result of the strikes. They will be lifted immediately after the stabilization of the energy system. By morning, a significant number of consumers in the Rivne region were left without electricity. Also, due to shelling, shutdowns occurred in the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions.
These strikes highlight the continuation of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, impacting energy generation and the livelihoods of the country's residents. Authorities urge citizens to remain in safe places and follow energy specialists' recommendations regarding the rational consumption of electricity under limited supply conditions.
