More than 60% of deaths and injuries among peaceful citizens of Ukraine this year are in front-line areas due to attacks from Russia. The Russian army is using artillery, aviation, and drones to attack these territories, leading to difficult conditions for the civilian population. In villages and towns along the front line, it is becoming increasingly difficult to access medical assistance and other basic services. The intensity of shelling near the front line has significant consequences for the civilian population. In July, Russia launched a record number of strike drones against Ukraine, which is a sign of further escalation in the region. Civilian casualties from drones and air bombs have significantly increased, according to a UN report. Such statistics confirm the threat posed by Russian aggression to the population of front-line areas in eastern Ukraine.
