The Roman Catholic bishop assessed the chances of a Ukrainian becoming the new Pope.
The head of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr diocese, Vitaliy Kryvytskyi, stated that the chances of the Ukrainian, Cardinal Mykola Bychko, becoming the next Pope are very slim due to his young age. Kryvytskyi believes that the Church needs an older Pope who can develop the church for a long Time. He also compared Bychko to John Paul II, who became Pope at 58 and turned out to be an exceptional leader.
