Employers to Receive Compensation for Setting Up Workstations for People with Disabilities: Amounts and Eligibility Criteria.
Workplace Adaptation Cost Reimbursement Program
According to Novyny.live: A program that reimburses employers for adapting workplaces for individuals with disabilities is available in Ukraine in 2026. This initiative aims to support people with disabilities by helping create comfortable and safe working conditions. Covered expenses may include:
- furniture purchases
- lighting
- computers
- office equipment
- mobility aids
- specialized tools
- software
- communication devices
- other technical aids
Applications for reimbursement can be submitted online through the 'Diia' portal or in person at an employment center. Importantly, claims must be filed within 180 days of the employee's hiring date. A decision on funding is typically made within 13 business days. Each specific workstation is eligible for compensation only once, making the support process structured and transparent.
Compensation Amounts
The reimbursement amount depends on the disability group. For individuals with a Group I disability, the maximum is up to 129,705 hryvnias. For those with a Group II disability, the maximum is up to 86,470 hryvnias. This program represents a significant step toward integrating people with disabilities into the workforce and improving their working conditions.
This workplace adaptation cost reimbursement program is part of the Ukrainian government's broader efforts to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of physical ability. It not only enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities but also promotes their active participation in the country's economy. Implementing such initiatives can also help shift societal stereotypes about people with disabilities and their role in the labor market.
